Scott Courtney

Scott Courtney holds two BS degrees, in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, from the University of Missouri. He spent nearly fifteen years at The Timken Company (a manufacturer) during which time he designed shop-floor control systems and networks, administered networks under Novell, UNIX, and DEC Pathworks, managed projects, and wrote a lot of middleware in C and Java.

In 2000, Scott left the manufacturing sector to become a technical journalist and web programmer for INT Media Group, parent company of LinuxToday.com, LinuxPlanet.com, and several other Open Source web sites. In 2001, Scott accepted the position of Senior Engineer at Sine Nomine Associates, a small company which provides engineering and consulting services in network design and systems integration.

Scott has been happily married since 1993, and has three cats but no children. In his spare time, he enjoys re-creating the Middle Ages as a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a living history group.
